At Bute House, we believe that understanding Science helps children appreciate and relate to the world around them, and teaches them to make observations, collect information and draw conclusions.

Our Science curriculum is designed to capture the students’ curiosity. We carry out a wide range of exciting and challenging experiments and investigations, and pupils are encouraged to use their Learning Powers to explore, predict, question and collaborate.

To supplement work done in class, we run a variety of trips, including The Science and Natural History Museums, The Royal Institution, and workshops led by university research laboratories. We also offer the opportunity for Year 6 students to go on a once in a lifetime trip to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. Here the girls undergo a week of astronaut training, explore the habitat and wildlife native to Florida, and swim with manatees.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. ”
