To raise £1 million for a New Wellbeing Hub or £1.2 million to build, furnish, and support the first year of our ground-breaking Wellbeing Programme. This initiative revolves around transforming an existing space into a brand-new Wellbeing Hub that will be a beacon of hope and support for our pupils and the community through our partnerships.
The new Wellbeing Hub will comprise a dedicated Wellbeing Classroom, Therapy Room, and Reflection Terrace. These spaces will serve as sanctuaries of growth, healing, and self-discovery.
Why is it important?
The number of children in mental health crisis has reached record levels in England, as demonstrated in an analysis of NHS data by the mental health charity YoungMinds. In 2022, 18% of children aged 7 to 16 years old had a probable mental health disorder. Within this age range, rates rose from 1 in 9 in 2017 to 1 in 6 in 2020 and these statistics have remained stable until now.
Our children are facing so many pressures from a younger age; pressures to do well at school, pressure from their peers, and from society as a whole. It is our job, school and parents, to support our children and equip them with the mental resilience to withstand the challenges that they will inevitably face. Preparing children with the right tools is a priority so that they can enjoy their journey through Bute and beyond!
We are working with our charity partner, Enthuse, to handle the processing of our online payments. When making your donation, you will see a request to add a tip that helps cover Enthuse’s technology costs. Please be aware that you are not obliged to add this to your total donation and you are able to deselect the percentage automatically added.
