The Library is a focal point of the school. It helps to enrich and enhance our curriculum and the school philosophy. It is in the process of changing from being the traditional literature-focused library to being also a centre of learning and resources. As the Library is always open, pupils may use the Library at Break times in addition to their weekly lessons. During Break time, Open Library gives the girls the opportunity to curl up on a bean bag with a good book or to do research on a computer. In lessons books are changed, stories read and shared, and library and study skills taught. Pupils also come in from other lessons to source materials. We have 12,500 books as well as DVDs, posters, story tapes, and wireless access to the ICT network and the internet. There is a range of periodicals and newspapers. The school archives, which include items such as early uniforms and our TriBute magazines, are stored in the Library. It is important that the girls are aware of the fascinating history of their school.

The Year 6 Library Assistants are efficient and enthusiastic. The Librarians arrange author visits; select and advise on material for School and Staff Libraries and read new children's titles. The girls' recommendations and requests are always carefully considered when new books are purchased.
